COVID-19: Information for our clients
In Ontario, we're fortunate that we don't have to think about earthquakes very much. While we might have huge annual downpours, frigid winters, and the occasional twister to worry about, quakes are mercifully a rare occurrence – for now at least. Unfortunately, climatologists are warning Ontario residents to prepare for more severe, and more frequent, seismic activity within the next decade or so. With that in mind, it might be a good idea to think about earthquake insurance in Woodstock sooner rather than later.
Earthquake insurance is simple. It covers property damaged caused by the movement of the earth. This is an important distinction to make. While your homeowner's policy may cover many things, this is one area where it won't help you. If the earth starts to rock and a wall of your home caves in, under your present coverage you might just be out of luck.
Businesses should also consider the potential risk of a quake. If a major tremor hits and damages your facilities, resulting in expensive repairs and downtime, does your current insurance cover that? When disaster strikes, you don't want to be combing through the fine print to find out, you want to be able to return to operations as quickly, and with as little loss, as possible.
When it comes to your home or business, there is no such thing as "too prepared,” especially with climatologists telling us to expect the worst. Talk to one of our brokers about earthquake insurance in Woodstock and rest secure in the knowledge that you're covered if things every get shaky.
