With spring around the corner, it’s time for March Break and we’re here to recommend some fun activities to keep everyone entertained throughout the break. Waterloo Regjon and surrounding areas have many fun activities and events running through the week, so we’ve rounded up some of our top picks:

Dinosaurs Live at the Wellington County Museum

Travel back to the Jurassic age with the Dinosaurs Live exhibit at the Wellington County Museum where you can enjoy crafts, drop-in activities, and a fun dinosaur exhibit. This event runs as a drop-in until March 15 and admission is by donation.

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with THEMUSEUM

Ahead of the official day, there is a family-friendly St. Patrick’s Day event hosted by THEMUSEUM on Friday, March 15! “Paint THEMUSEUM Green” will be a day filled with crafts, dancing, stories and more. Additional information is available on THEMUSEUM’s website.

Have a Tea Party at McDougall Cottage

The McDougall Cottage Historic Site in Cambridge will be hosting two fun and exciting themed teas over March Break. The Bee themed tea event takes place on March 12 where kids are invited to dress up in black and yellow to honour bees during this special event including treats and crafts. On March 14 they are hosting the Enchanted Fairy Tea featuring special fairy treats and crafts. For more information and links to ticket purchases, visit the McDougall Cottage website

Check out Some Kitchen Science

During March Break at the Schneider Haus National Historic Site, join them each day in their kitchen science “lab” to explore chemical reactions and the science behind everyday food ingredients. This experience is included in admission to the Schneider Haus so while you’re there you can explore their exhibits, interactive tours, and more! Learn more about the Schneider Haus activities.

You can keep up with all the events happening in the Waterloo Region over March Break and beyond by visiting Explore Waterloo Regions’s event calendar . Wishing everyone a happy and safe March Break!
