Summer is a great time for outdoor fun including backyard fires and barbeques with family and friends. It’s also important to remember that safety comes first when enjoying fires and using/storing propane tanks that fuel both fire tables and barbeques.
Where should propane tanks be stored?
- Outdoors: Propane tanks should be stored outside in a well-ventilated, dry area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources
- Shaded Area: Make sure to keep the propane tank in a shaded area to prevent it from overheating
- Proper Ventilation: Ensure that the store area has proper ventilation to prevent the buildup of flammable gas
- Store your Tank Upright: Tanks should be stored in an upright position, and they should be secured to prevent it from tipping over
- Away from Heat: Keep tanks away from fire pits, grills, water heaters, space heaters and other ignition sources
