After seeing an urgent appeal for much needed supplies at the Kitchener-Waterloo Humane Society, Staebler’s own Charity & Community Involvement Committee stepped up and went shopping.
Our team delivered pet food, toys, and items like bowls, storage containers, and cleaning supplies – all of which were on the Humane Society’s wish list. In addition, the Committee made a $1,000 donation to help support animals in urgent need of care.

Some of the items listed will be part of their Pet Pantry Program, which allows people who are in emergency situations to drop in and pick up pet food, litter, treats, and basic bedding supplies. While not intended to be permanent solution, it assists people facing financial or personal hardship to continue to care for their pets.
Humane Care for All Animals
During a recent tour of the facility, the Humane Society explained they are much more than a shelter centre for cats and dogs. They take care of rabbits, mice, snakes, birds, and just about any type of animal that’s in need of care, with the goal being rehabilitation and being released again or adopted to their forever home. On any given day, the Humane Society will bring in a sick animal, test it, treat it, and release it back into the wild.
