With the warmer weather, thoughts of summer jump into many people’s minds, and with it comes the urban rituals of parks, splash pads, and food trucks! Who doesn’t love a tasty meal or a quick bite from a food truck on a summer day?

A few of our favourites include:

BeaverTails Mobile KW– Originating in Ottawa, these sweet slabs of pastry are what dreams are made of. Try the classic with sprinkled sugar or try some of the more creative toppings to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Ish & Chips Food Truck – It doesn’t have to be Friday to enjoy some of the tastiest fried fish and chips in the region. There’s good reason to follow Ish & Chips to find out where they’ll be parked next.

Los Rolling Tacos– This food truck’s authentic Mexican tacos draw long lines of hungry patrons, especially when birria is on the menu!

SWAT Food Truck – What’s a SWAT? Sandwiches with a twist, of course. SWAT is one of the original food trucks in Kitchener-Waterloo, serving up traditional hamburgers and hotdogs and a special lobster roll.

Protip: Keep an eye on their social media pages for updates of where and when they’ll be serving.

Food Truck Insurance Considerations

For food truck and chip wagon owners, as a seasonal business, there is a lot to consider for the short period of time. Typically, the food truck season will run from late-April to September, and is weather dependent. Considerations also include the festival or event attendance, foot traffic in the area, and if the type of food being offered. In addition, some municipalities require permits or licences to be able to operate.

When it comes to insurance, we’re here to help.
