The Waterloo Region Police Service, in partnership with local municipalities, have launched a new centralized bylaw phone number to help manage complaints.
The dedicated number now allows residents to report bylaw-related matters such as property standards, noise complaints, and parking enforcement issues.
The goal is to divert away bylaw-specific phone calls from the police’s emergency and non-emergency lines.
What’s the new Waterloo Region Bylaw Number?
Beginning on Monday, June 22, residents of Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and North Dumfries, can now call the new dedicated bylaw number:
519-585-8088
The Waterloo Regional Police emphasize this change will allow their resources to focus on emergencies and incidents that should be handled by police officers.
In 2025, police received 9,649 bylaw-related calls, averaging around 26 per day (Waterloo Region Record).
In the event you’re not sure who to call, the WRPS website has a list of ‘Common Call Types’ that can help direct you to either emergency, non-emergency, or bylaw contacts: Who to Call | Waterloo Regional Police
