Head out to the German Clubs and Micro-Festhalls

While the traditional Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest celebrations are tuned down again in 2021, select German Clubs have dinner events, take out specials, and select live entertainment.

In addition, there are more than 25 restaurant partners that are serving German faire and special dishes during the Oktoberfest season. The final weekend will include entertainment at Bobby O’Briens, Descendants, Frannie’s, and the Rich Uncle Tavern.

Check out the complete list of participating German Clubs and Micro-Festhall partners.

Watch for the Community Wunderwagen

New for 2021, the official Oktoberfest Wunderwagen has been travelling throughout communities in Waterloo Region.

If you’re lucky, the Wunderwagen will makes its way down your street and bring the Oktoberfest spirit right to your front yard. The 14-foot mobile stage delivers local bands and local entertainers to neighbourhoods, restaurants, and community centres.

To avoid crowding, organizers are keeping specific locations a secret and it is recommended to keep an eye on their Facebook and Instagram pages.

Tune into the Virtual Thanksgiving Day Parade

For the second year in a row, the traditional Thanksgiving parade will be held virtually.

CTV will air the virtual parade which will include highlights of previous parades, favourite moments, and the best floats from year’s past. It’ll be broadcast on cable TV (channel 12) or online at this link on CTVKitchener.ca

Be sure to tune in on Monday, October 11 between 12-1 p.m.

Prost!
