In our previous post, we asked this question:

Approximately how many licensed taxis are on the road in Toronto?

Answer:

There are around 5,000 licensed taxis on the road in Toronto, which works out to about 18 cabs per 10,000 people. In the best-served American market of Washington, D.C., the ratio is 116 cabs per 10,000 people. Clearly transportation is an issue for people in Ontario.

Did you know the answer?

Now for this post’s question!

In May of what year was the cornerstone for East Avenue auditorium site laid?

Check back for the answer in our next post!

Here’s a fun factoid for today! Our very own Annette Burgess came across a flyer that showcases a little piece of Kitchener history. Her father’s band, The Copper Penny, once opened for Led Zeppelin at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.

Take a look below at the flyer for this 1969 concert event—then take a look at that ticket price! Those were the days, weren’t they?

Thanks for sharing this with us, Annette!
