It’s been over three years since the Coldest Night of the Year walk could happen in person so when the chance to put a team together, a number of Staebler employees jumped at the opportunity to walk on February 25.

The Staebler 150 team, led by President Joanna Mendonca, raised over $6,400, surpassing their team goal and helping add to the local walk’s fundraising total of more than $215,000 – the third highest in Canada.

This year’s Kitchener Coldest Night of the Year supported the Ray of Hope Community Centre. The organization reaches out and helps the vulnerable and homeless in our community. Ray of Hope says demand for their services has increased in the last couple years. The walk will help fund their meal and hamper programs, counselling programs, and time shelter programs.

Over 700 people came together on Saturday night to fundraise and show their support for Ray of Hope. Despite the chilly conditions, Team Staebler 150 said it was a heartwarming experience and look forward to the 2024 walk.
