Autumn in Waterloo Region is shaping up to be a season packed with music, markets, and cultural celebrations. From stein-raising Oktoberfest nights to twinkling holiday lights, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Events (October 3–18, 2025) – Canada’s largest Bavarian festival returns with festhall parties, family days, live music, and the iconic keg tapping at Carl Zehr Square. Downtown Kitchener’s Wilkommen Platz, Uptown Waterloo’s markets, and traditional celebrations keep the spirit alive all month. Check out more details and purchase tickets through KW Oktoberfest.

Pumpkinpalooza – St. Jacobs (October 25, 2025) – A family-friendly fall celebration featuring pumpkin carving, a glowing pumpkin parade, and trick-or-treating through the charming streets of St. Jacobs. Find out more information on this fun fall event: Pumpkinpalooza.

Dia de los Muertos – Downtown Kitchener (November 1, 2025) – A vibrant Day of the Dead festival honouring loved ones with colourful altars, music, dance, and traditional food in the heart of the city. This festival runs from 11a.m. to 8 p.m., more information can be found via Downtown Kitchener.

Holiday Sip & Shop – St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market (November 21 and 28, 2025) – An evening market experience where visitors can browse artisan goods, sip festive drinks, and enjoy the cozy holiday atmosphere at the St. Jacobs Farmers’ Market. Christkindl Market – Kitchener (December 5–7, 2025) – A beloved German Christmas market with handmade gifts, live entertainment, and festive treats, transforming Kitchener City Hall into a winter wonderland. Check out the details on their website: Christkindl Market – City of Kitchener

Cambridge Holiday Market & Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night (December 5–7, 2025) – Shop local at Cambridge’s holiday market, then join the unique Unsilent Night procession, a fun twist on caroling where participants will enjoy the music of Phil Kline while they take in interactive light installations and live LED performers.
