Summer 2025 in Kitchener and Waterloo Region bursts with vibrant events and activities. Enjoy music at the Kitchener Blues Festival and Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival, celebrate culture at the Multicultural Festival, or savour food at Ribfest in Victoria Park!

Whether you’re a local or a visitor to the community, there are family-friendly park activities, Canada Day fireworks, truly something for everyone to get outside, enjoy the weather, and make new memories.

 

Kitchener Events in Summer 2025

  • Multicultural Festival – Food, Music, Art, Community, Dance, Crafts Yes, you can bring your dog, yes there are activities for kids. Happening at Victoria Park, June 21-22
  • Neighbours Day – Come out and enjoy a city-wide porch party with live music on porches, driveways, front lawns, boulevards and more. This event is free on June 21, with concerts at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Celebrate Canada Day in DTK – Lots of family friendly fun, an evening concert and fireworks display to end the night. July 1
  • Ribfest & Craft Beer Show – Enjoy mouth-watering barbequed ribs and chicken, an incredible selection of Ontario craft brewed beer, ciders and cocktails with live entertainment and a Kids Fun Zone. Admission is free and is happening at Victoria Park July 18-20, 2025
  • Cruising on King – The biggest street party of the year with classic cars lining King Street surrounded by live entertainment and happening patios. Join us on King Street and Carl Zehr Square Friday July 11, 2025, from 5:30-9:00 p.m.
  • Wayback Festival – Travel back in time and is filled with free music, entertainment, and tons of fun. July 25-26
  • Kitchener Blues Fest is proudly sponsored by Staebler Insurance and offers incredible talent, lots of cool tunes and promises a great time. Victoria Park (Clock Tower Stage) August 7-10
  • Kids Park – Music, entertainment, learning and activities, something for the whole family. Victoria Park on Sunday August 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Caribana – Kitchener’s first Caribana Ignite offering a stunning street theatre presentation and street party showcasing the true essence of a carnival. August 22-23

Waterloo Events in Summer 2025

  • Uptown Waterloo Jazz Festival is proudly sponsored by Staebler Insurance – Featuring renowned jazz musicians, the free three-day festival is perfect for families and friends to connect and enjoy music, July 18-20
  • “Dance It Off” runs May to August – Come out every Tuesday from 7-10 p.m. and enjoy an evening of dance at the Waterloo Public Square
  • Art Market runs May to August and offers a selection of handmade goods created by local artists. Come out from 5-9 p.m. with live music from 7-9 p.m. at the Waterloo Public Square
  • Campfire runs May to August. Come gather around the fire and listen to live music performed by local musicians. Every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Waterloo Public Square
  • Movies in the Park runs June to August. Bring your blanket and enjoy a fun movie night on a big outdoor screen. Movies start at sundown at the West side of Waterloo Park near the Bandshell. A full list of the movies is available here: City of Waterloo | All City Events
  • National Indigenous Peoples Day – Recognize the culture and contributions of the First Nations, Inuit and Metis peoples, communities, and nations. Local artists create and install art pieces at Waterloo Public Square on June 21
  • Canada Day Community Picnic – Features local artists, food trucks, games, and an LED drone show. Waterloo Park on July 1, 4-10 p.m.
  • Day of Play – Activities, games, adventures and more. Located on the East side of Waterloo Park near Silver Lake on August 9 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
